Parking Lot Rules and Guidelines
Overview
The BOXES WILL BE OUTSIDE in the DOCK BOX in front of the school (MAIN ENTRANCE). Please make sure you take your tote, cones and sign. ** NEW: The cones are in the dock box next to the one with the bins in there. They seemed to be walking away lately. Please put them back in the bin if you are the last shift. IMPORTANT: ALL volunteers are representing Huntington Bank, the City of Saugatuck, and Saugatuck Public Schools, and are ambassadors to the community and should conduct themselves in a respectful way all times regardless of the situation. |

ANY QUESTIONS please contact Nickie Baumann (group leader) at (616) 953-2025 (phone or text) or Liz Wilson at (1616) 836-6508. TEXT will be faster response time.
- Customer service is the #1 priority at Huntington Bank. We are required to take direction from bank employees during banking hours or we will be asked to leave the lot.
- Bank employees may park in any open spot for FREE. Customers park for free during bank hours. If a person says they are on bank business, volunteers should NOT charge them for parking. - this includes the need to use the ATM.
- DURING BANKING HOURS (Friday evenings until 6PM and Saturdays from 8:30AM - NOON), all driveways must be accessible - so do not block with cones until it is closed. DO NOT BLOCK MASON or GRIFFITH STREET ENTRANCES. Once the bank closes, set up cones at the east entrance off of Griffith Street (see map).
- DURING BANKING HOURS, ALL BANK SPOTS (clearly marked with Huntington Bank signs) must be left available for ONLY customers and employees to park at no charge.
- ENTIRE GRAY WALL - Coast 236 and old Toulouse Building owners have two marked spots, at the south west end of the lot. DO NOT allow any paid visitors to park in these spots and do not charge the owners to park in these spots. The spots are reserved for chef and the rental upstairs. If an owner wants to park, they can park.
- AFTER BANKING HOURS and on SUNDAYS: Cones should be placed on Griffith Street entryway (NOT a vehicle -this is not permitted because it is a fire hazard and takes up space for the Toulouse building.
- AFTER BANKING HOURS and on SUNDAYS: 2-3 employee parking spaces (against back bank wall - fence, see MAP, green dots) should be left available for ATM/night depository customers or Huntington Bank employees. ATM customers and employees park for FREE. All other spots marked with Huntington Bank signs MAY BE USED during non-banking hours.
- FULL LOT: Turn sign around - Once a space opens up and is vacated, turn the sign back around.
Additional Rules:
- Handicapped spaces are only for cars with proper stickers/plates. Per ADA law we may NOT charge for a handicapped parking spot and they may be used anytime.
- Motor homes, large trucks, and boats/trailers are NEVER allowed to park in the lot.
- NOTE: Parking along the alleyway of the gray building to the west of the lot is private - our parkers will be towed if they park there.
- There is NO parking arrangements with other local businesses except Huntington Bank, Coast 236 and the owners of the Toulouse building - as noted above. Call or text Liz Wilson at 616-836-6508 if there is an issue. Texting is a faster option than a voicemail.
Starting a Shift
- The first shift of the day should collect all of the supplies (sign, Chemical tote, and cones) from the white dock box in front of the MAIN ENTRANCE at the school.
- Be sure you bring change with you if you ate the first shift of the day. Ideally $10's (approximately 4-5 if possible) - since the cost is NOW $10 / car. If you use your own money, keep track of what you put into it so you you can pay yourself back at the end. OTHERWISE the shift before you may provide you change from their collected funds. Make a note on each shift's reconciliation forms regarding how much change was provided.
- COMPLETE the provided checklist (in plastic tote) before your shift begins.
- Note the first ticket number that will be used during the shift. The volunteer will need to enter the date of each ticket sold for that shift (it is a good practice to have a few tickets ready at the start of the shift). At the end of a shift reconcile the number of tickets sold to the amount of money collected. Distribute the tickets in order according to the number printed on them.
Ending a Shift
- When a shift ends, the volunteer should fill out the reconciliation form. Record the ending ticket numbers sold; the number of the tickets x the $ amount per ticket should = the amount of money you collected minus the change you started with and will leave for the next shift. # of tickets X 10 = total amount - (change started of given to next shift)
- Fill out the the bank deposit slip and envelope. Bank deposits MUST be make at the end of EVERY shift. Always use a deposit slip. Use more than one deposit envelope (with a deposit slip. in each) for a large deposit. Make your deposit in the night depository just outside the bank doors on Mason Street. IMPORTANT - do not overstuff the deposit envelop with money. The deposit slot is very narrow and overstuffing envelop will make it impossible to fit in the slot OR it will get stuck. Use multiple envelops/deposit slips if needed.
- Staple the copy of the deposit slip(s), FACE UP on the back side of the reconciliation form. Leave the form in the designated folder in the plastic tote.
- The LAST SHIFT of the DAY, should return all supplies (sign, tote, cones, etc) to the white dock box behind the school.
- NEVER take a supplies and money home with you.
